Donny Manalu

Dani-Manalu

Hi…
My name is Donny David Manalu. I am a teacher in the ELC 1. I have been teaching preschoolers for 14 years in different schools and using different curriculums. I was educated at the ABA ( Foreign English Academy) and Early Childhood Education. I have also taken courses and  professional development workshops relating to Montessori, story telling/reading and classroom management.

My goals for students in ELC 1 are:
-         to make children happy when they are learning
-         to have fun
-         to develop their maximum potential by giving them freedom in
           learning with passion
-         to build their self esteem
-         to make them eager to come to school.
That’s a brief introduction about me and welcome to ELC 1!

Edna Olaso Nawani

Edna-Olaso-NawaniHello Everyone! I am Edna Olaso Nawani, the teacher of ELC 2. I joined ISB in 2006. Prior to and during my years at ISB, I have always specialized in teaching the Preschool class. Why do I choose to teach such little ones? Well, I truly love working with young children. I feel it is an honor to have them put their trust in me everyday when they step through the classroom door as they wave goodbye to their parents. Their confidence in me and gradual transformation as young learners under my guidance is a great reward. Read the rest of this entry »

Muria Roberts

Muria RobertsHi everyone! I am class teacher for Grade 3-4. It is a delight to be part of the staff at ISB, which is such a warm and friendly community school. As well as working with an inspiring and enthusiastic class of Grade 3s and 4s, my job involves supporting ISB staff with their implementation of the International Baccalaurete (IB) Primary Years Curriculum (PYP). I hope you will read all about this wonderful international curriculum in the PYP section of this website. The strength of this curriculum is that it makes learning meaningful and empowers our students (and the adults within our staff and community!) to be lifelong learners and responsible, caring citizens of the future.

I began my teaching career in Queensland, Australia, after graduating in 1989 with a Diploma of Teaching from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). After two years of teaching, I began studying part-time towards a Bachelor of Education Studies, majoring in teaching children with learning and behavioural difficulties. In early 1994, I moved to London, UK, where I continued to teach and study part-time, working my way through a number of Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology Units, both by correspondence through the University of New England (UNE) in Australia, and then as an international affiliate student within the Institute of Archaeology, University College of London (UCL).
