The Dunia is a support network run by, and for, schools implementing the IB Primary Years Program within Indonesia.
Dunia aims to provide opportunities for professional collaboration and development for schools through:
- school visits
- positive dialogue
- sharing ideas and information
- professional discussions
Dunia meetings are attended primarily by PYP coordinators.
Each year, Dunia holds two 2-day meetings for PYP coordinators, one in Jakarta and one in another area within Indonesia. These meetings are designed to meet the professional development needs of PYP coordinators who are responsible for the implementation of the PYP within their schools.
Dunia also runs two 2-day PYP Job-Alike sessions annually (one per semester), one in Jakarta and one outside Jakarta. The Job-Alike sessions are designed to meet the more general professional development requirements of Dunia member school. These sessions are open to all staff within a member school.
Schools wishing to join Dunia pay an annual membership fee of Rp.500.000.
The International School of Bogor has been an active member and supporter of the Dunia network. ISB PYP Coordinators have been willing to take on positions of responsibility within Dunia by volunteering their time as Chair Persons on the Dunia Organising Committee and ISB currently hosts the Dunia website.
