ELC 1

Welcome to Early Learning Center 1! ELC 1 is our first preschool classroom and a haven for the youngest students at ISB. The children’s ages range from two to three years old.

The ELC is a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, aesthetic, intellectual, and language development of each child while being sensitive to the needs and preferences of families. ELC class groupings are determined by the age of the child upon entering the ELC program.

a) 2 to 3 years old children = ELC 1
b) 3 to 4 years old children = ELC 2
c) 4 to 5 years old children = ELC 3

The toddler classroom provides a warm, safe, caring environment in which children aged two to three explore the world, grow in independence, and gradually develop self-esteem as they move through the different learning centers in the classroom. They follow a program that caters fully to their natural development. The teachers aim to support the social-emotional, language and cognitive development of these children. The teachers build trust with the toddler and provide individual attention and conversation. They also provide activities that enhance the development of fine motor, gross motor and self-help skills. ELC 1 children come three mornings a week from 9.30 to 11.50 a.m.
