Hello everyone! Welcome to our Grade 3-4 webpages. We hope you enjoy looking through all the wonderful activities that we have been involved in, so far this year.
Every Monday morning, we update our webpages with new information. We do this as a class, so that everyone feels involved and has the opportunity to contribute their ideas.
We think school is lots of fun! We learn about many different things at school. Most school days start with our handwriting and spelling practice. We do this as soon as we come into class and it helps us to settle quietly for the start of the day.
On Mondays and Fridays, we learn Bahasa Indonesia with Ibu Lesmina and Ibu Tari. These lessons help us feel more confident about speaking in Bahasa Indonesia and it’s exciting to be able to speak more than one language.
We are also part of the ISB Senior Choir. We sing after lunch every Tuesday and Thursday. Everyone loves singing and you can hear each person’s voice, as they sing out loud and in tune. We bring our favourite songs to school so that Ibu Nana can put them up on powerpoint and we can read the lyrics. On Wednesdays and Thursdays we learn traditional Indonesian music with Pak Asep – our very talented ISB music teacher. He is teaching us to play gamelan bamboo and drums.
Every day we develop our maths and language skills. We often write on white boards first and then we edit our writing with the help of our friends and teacher. For maths we have been doing a lot of work on numbers so far this year – particularly BIG numbers! We have been building models of BIG numbers to help us to understand them better.
We are ISBs Eco-committee. In the middle of our classroom, we have an Earth Table. We sit around our Earth Table to have our meetings. We discuss how to organise our reuse paper trays and our class recycling bins. We also have compost collection bins. We think caring for our environment is important for our future and the future of all other living things on this planet. We have many exciting plans for activities that the Eco-committee will organise, including asking every student and teacher at ISB to grow their own plant and to ultimatley make a fantastic ISB garden with Ibu Rella!
