Grade 5&6

Welcome to the Grade 5 and 6 class at ISB.  We are the seniors this year and therefore take on many of the leadership roles within the school.  In this class we focus on developing our independence.  We do this through:

  • Organizing ourselves to be prepared for school
  • Taking responsibility for completing our homework tasks
  • Being held accountable for our actions

 In Grade 5 we have developed our own classroom rules – which we call essential agreements.  Our Essential Agreements are:

  1. Show respect for one another
  2. Care for each other, our belongings, and our environment
  3. Communicate appropriately
  4. Be principled and complete our homework and all other tasks

    • Indonesian (twice a week)
    • P.E (once a week)
    • Swimming (once a week)
    • Dance (once a week)
    • Music (once a week)
    • Library Skills (once a week)
    • Art (once a week)
    • Mathematics (5 times a week)
    • Literacy/Language (incorporating handwriting, grammar, reading, writing and buddy reading – 13 times a week)
    • PYP Units of Inquiry (incorporating Science & Social Studies – 6 times a week)
  5.  We believe these rules guide all aspects of our everyday life at school.
